Applications are Open for the Bender JCC Board of Directors

 At the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, we understand the vital importance of diverse voices and perspectives on our board. We currently have a unique opportunity for qualified candidates to fill a limited number of seats on our innovative and dynamic board. You will join a cohort of exceptional and influential leaders in their fields who represent the diversity of the community we serve. We are looking for candidates who are truly passionate about the work of our organization; have a holistic understanding of the needs of the community, are willing to commit time, resources, and energy to strengthen and sustain it; and embrace board service as a serious commitment. Board members will serve for a 3-year term beginning July 1, 2025.

For the FY26 board slate, the Bender JCC needs candidates with a variety of skills, including strong emphasis on candidates with expertise in finance and accounting, non-profit fundraising and marketing and communications.

Our board members will:

·         Know the mission, programs, policies, and needs of the Bender JCC.

·         Regularly attend six in-person board meetings a year, including a summer retreat, and a spring annual meeting

·         Fully participate in one or more committees by Zoom.

·         Leverage connections, networks, and resources to benefit fundraising goals.

·         Understand the financial affairs of the organization and approve audit reports, budgets, and business decisions.
