Douglas F. Gansler, a four-year starter for the Yale University lacrosse team, earned first team All-New England and All-Ivy League honors. While in high school at Sidwell Friends, Gansler set the all-time scoring record on the varsity lacrosse team. Following his graduation with honors from Yale, Gansler attended the University of Virginia Law School where he played club lacrosse and served as a graduate assistant lacrosse coach for the varsity lacrosse team. Gansler was also a top draft pick for the professional indoor lacrosse team, the Washington Wave. For the past 25 years, Gansler has been a youth lacrosse coach, currently coaching both of his sons in the Bethesda and Potomac Lacrosse Leagues. Off the field, Gansler served six years as a federal prosecutor, eight years as the elected State’s Attorney for Montgomery County, and currently serves as the Attorney General of Maryland.
