Growing up in Washington, David Elfin became a huge sports fan at the age of 7. Never an elite althlete, Elfin persevered on the fields and courts, and in the pool. At Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, he discovered a new outlet for his passion: sportswriting. He has been writing ever since: at The University of Pennsylvania and Syracuse University and for The Washington Post, The Syracuse Post-Standard and The Washington Times. Since 1989, Elfin has covered the Redskins, the Capitals and the NFL for The Times. Elfin has won numerous awards, authored six books and serves as President of the Pro Football Writers of America.
