From Pushcarts to Poolside: An Immigrant History of Food

A riveting and delicious culinary conversation tracing the immigrant history of food on the Lower East Side to the Borscht Belt and how it’s shaped the way New York (and the U.S.) eats today. Hosted by Liz Alpern, New York-based co-founder of Jewish food venture Gefilteria and co-author of The Gefilte Manifesto: New Recipes for Old World Jewish Foods.

But first, let’s eat some knishes!

Join us for a delicious, kosher, New York-style deli lunch. Vegetarian options are available.

  • Corned beef, pastrami, and hot dogs
  • Knishes, pickles, and Dr. Brown’s Cream Soda
  • Salads and sides
  • Babka, black ‘n white cookies, halvah, and so much more!
