March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the contributions and achievements of women. The Bender JCC is pleased to welcome the Iris Piano trio as we commemorate Women’s History Month. We will celebrate the lives of women musicians who broke the glass ceiling in music.  Featured artists will include Carrie Jacobs-Bond, Rebecca Clarke, Dorothy Fields, and contemporary composer Gabriela Lena Frank among others.

Iris Music Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, reimagines residential and healthcare communities as spaces of creative exchange. Through collaboratively designed programming, Iris Music Project provides opportunities for connection and purpose for residents, caregivers, and musicians. The Iris Piano Trio is the performing ensemble of the Iris Music Project, representing the organization on stages across the Mid-Atlantic area. They are the ensemble in residence at the Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville MD.
