Starts November 20, 2023 - Ends January 1, 2024
From November 20, 2023, to January 1, 2024, the Giving Lobby has many ways for you to help the community. Please take a moment to be inspired by a visit to the wonderful drives the Bender JCC and Delivering Good have pledged our participation.
The Bender JCC’s Delivering Good Network is hosting a collection drive on behalf of I Support the Girls, a local non-profit in Montgomery County, whose mission is to provide women experiencing homelessness or limited access to resources with the feminine and menstrual products they require. This January, the Bender JCC’s Delivering Good Network will be collecting products including:
- New and gently used bras
- New underwear
- Packaged maxi pads and liners
- Packaged tampons
Thank you for helping us support the girls!
The mission of A Wider Circle, a local non-profit, is to advance equity in the greater Washington DC region by fostering the exchange of goods, skills, and connections from neighbor to neighbor and engaging in advocacy to address the root causes of poverty. A Wider Circle provides essential goods to 10-15 families per day. A Wider Circle is calling on our community for support, in a time where donations are scarce. The need does not pause. Help us support A Wider Circle by dropping off items here at the Bender JCC including:
- Nonperishable food items like cereal, pasta, and protein items like peanut butter and tuna
- Household and personal care items like soap, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies
Formula & “Wipe Out” Drive
The Bender JCC will be a donation drop-off site for the Greater DC Diaper Bank. We are looking for unopened/unexpired formula. We would also love WIPES! Wipes are the most requested item and the DC Diaper Bank hopes to have a “Wipe Out Summer”. There are over 160 drop-off sites in this region, so if the JCC is out of your way, please go to whatever one is closest to you. Thank you all in advance for helping families get the nutrition they need!!! Please drop off donations in a large green bucket in the lobby.
Drop Off Location: Front Lobby
Help a family in need this winter and donate a new set of pajamas! All donations will be sent to Comfort Cases. Their mission is to inspire communities to bring dignity and hope to youth in foster care through Comfort, Community, Character, and Compassion. Comfort cases provide backpacks full of comforting items to babies, children, and teens entering foster care. Can’t make it to the JCC? Feel free to purchase items directly off their Wishlist at any time.
