The Advanced Hebrew Summer Course offers a unique opportunity for immersive learning at a high proficiency level. Over the course of six weeks, students will engage deeply with Hebrew through both linguistic practice and emotional, real-world content. The course is conducted entirely in Hebrew, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to language acquisition.
This full-immersion program is centered around discussions of Slikha al HaShe’ela (“You Can’t Ask That”), a docu-reality series that explores various social and political issues within Israeli society. Students will listen firsthand to accounts from reserve soldiers who served in the war, former hostages who returned home, and survivors of the Nova music festival. The series serves as a vehicle to challenge stereotypes and facilitate rich conversations on difficult subjects.
As time permits, the course will also include testimonies from the families of those still held hostage, allowing for a more holistic understanding of the ongoing situation and its implications on both a national and individual level.
