The Bender JCC promotes Mauricio Garcia to Chief Marketing Officer

July 8, 2026

The Bender JCC announces the promotion of Mauricio Garcia to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as of July 1, 2026.

Mauricio joined the Bender JCC of Greater Washington in 2005 as a Graphic Designer and, over the next two decades, took on increasing leadership responsibilities across nearly every aspect of the organization’s marketing and communications efforts. In July 2026, he was named Chief Marketing Officer, leading the Bender JCC’s marketing, communications, brand strategy, digital engagement, and creative services as a member of the executive leadership team.

“Over the past year, especially through leadership transitions, Mauricio has stepped up to direct the day-to-day functions of the department while also expanding his role in strategic marketing. He has built and supported a strong and effective marketing team with Noah Berger and Naomi Seiler. He has collaborated with external partners who enhance our capabilities in key areas such as digital marketing, Google SEO and analytics. Mauricio brings a team spirit and a calm demeanor to his work, even under pressure, and is ready to pivot when necessary to support his colleagues and the JCC.” said Josh Bender, the Bender JCC’s Chief Executive Officer.

Mauricio, a native of Bolivia, says, “The Bender JCC was the first place in the United States where I truly felt a sense of belonging. That experience changed the course of my life. Today, I have the privilege of helping create that same feeling for others. I’m honored to continue building a brand that reflects the values of inclusion, community, and belonging that first inspired me nearly 30 years ago.”
