Senior & Active Adult Programs | Bender JCC

Adults and Seniors (60+)

The Bender JCC offers opportunities for older adults to stay active, social, and engaged. Through fitness, learning, and shared experiences, participants can build connections and enjoy a strong sense of community. Every offering is designed to support well-being, independence, and belonging.

Active Life & Social Programs

At The Bender JCC of Greater Washington, older adults find more than a program schedule. They find a community. From group fitness classes to shared meals and lively conversation, every activity is built around connection as much as movement. Participants can explore new interests through lifelong learning opportunities, stay physically active with accessible fitness options, or simply enjoy the company of peers who understand this stage of life.

Selma Sweetbaum Senior Nutrition Program

The Selma Sweetbaum senior lunch program is for seniors to come together in a sense of community.

The program strives to prevent isolation, improve nutrition, build community, and enable participants to age in place, with appropriate connections to support services.

There is a suggested $5 weekly donation to cover the cost of lunch.

Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM from September to June.

Sip and Share Sisterhood

Sip and Share is a woman-only get-together, enjoying a hot beverage, a little something for your sweet tooth, and an opportunity to share ideas and experiences!

By joining Sip and Share Sisterhood, you are taking part in a warm and welcoming club, providing connection, camaraderie, and conversation.

There is a $40 annual fee.

Join us on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month.

Fun, Fit & Free

Fun, Fit, and Free is for individuals who are looking to come together in community to enjoy a wide range of movement and lifestyle workshops.

This is your chance to move, learn, and have fun–all while taking care of YOU! The workshop will require standing and moving for about 30-45 minutes. Please wear comfortable shoes.

This workshop meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The program is free, but registration is required.
