After an extensive national search that attracted over 40 applicants, the Bender JCC of Greater Washington is pleased to announce that Mark Seiler has been chosen as the organization’s next Chief Financial Officer.

Mark joins the Bender JCC with more than 13 years of Senior Executive Service experience in the Federal Government, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He brings extensive experience in building and supporting high performing teams, financial management in complex and changing environments, strategic planning, budget formulation, and improving operational efficiencies. Mark’s arrival comes at an exciting time for the JCC, as the organization continues to grow and expand its reach within the community.

“Our professional team is working closely with the board leadership on long-range planning and strategic direction for the Bender JCC so that we can continue to meet our mission and serve the community with distinction for many years to come. Mark’s skills, along with his extensive leadership and finance background in large, multifaceted organizations, will serve us very well as we move forward. Mazal tov to Mark on his appointment to this important position,” said Josh Bender, CEO.

From the start of the interview process, it was clear that Mark felt a strong connection to the Bender JCC’s mission and saw this as the perfect place to bring his skills and experience to his next professional chapter.

“My kids went to camp here, and my mom was a member for many years when she lived at Charles E. Smith Life Communities. I’ve always loved what the JCC stands for, and I’m so excited to be part of this team and put my skills to work,” said Seiler.

We look forward to welcoming Mark to our team this November.
