ONCE UPON MY MOTHER is the inspiring true story of a Moroccan Jewish mother’s unwavering devotion as she helps her son overcome physical challenges and societal barriers in 1960’s France. After the film, stay for a Q&A with Vanessa Chalme, granddaughter of the woman who inspired the film and Georgetown University Professor Jessica Roda, PhD, who studies the experiences of Jewish women and mothers, including in Montreal’s Moroccan Jewish community.
