Jenny Abramson, Founder and Managing Partner of Rethink Impact

Founder & Managing Partner of Rethink Impact, the largest VC fund in the country backing female-led companies tackling our greatest challenges. She currently sits on the boards of Bold, Parallel Learning, Ellevest, Candidly, EveryDay Labs, Wellthy, and Winnie. Previously Jenny served as CEO of LiveSafe, a tech security company focused on preventing school shootings and sexual assaults. She also held leadership roles at The Washington Post, Personal (a data tech company), The Boston Consulting Group, D.C. Public Schools, and Teach for America.

Jenny is also a board member of the NFL Players, Inc. and the Jacobs Foundation. Jenny was named a Forbes’ Impact 50 in 2020, Entrepreneur Magazine’s 100 Powerful Women and a DC Tech Titan. She has been covered in The New York Times, in Forbes, in The Washington Post, and on CNN, interviewed on Squawk Box, featured at the Code Conference, at the United Nations, at the G7, and on Capitol Hill.

She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors from Stanford University, an MBA with honors and the Dean’s Award from Harvard Business School and was a Fulbright Scholar at The London School of Economics.


Andrew Sachs, Founding Partner of Mauloa

Andrew Sachs is Founding Partner of Mauloa and has built a career spanning 30 years in private equity that includes sourcing, investing, and leading at the board level for almost 50 separate businesses.

Andrew began his investment career in New York as an analyst at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, where he analyzed and structured investments for its $1.9 billion private equity fund. He left Morgan Stanley to co-found KMS Investments, Inc., a private equity boutique, with Broadway producer Kevin McCollum. Following the success of KMS Investments, Andrew became President of Capital Investors II, LLC, an early-stage venture capital fund whose LPs include many of greater Washington DC’s leading entrepreneurs and financiers. Subsequently, he co-founded Bethany Partners, LLC, a private equity boutique, with Joshua Freeman of Carl M. Freeman Companies. Upon Joshua’s early passing, Mr. Sachs founded Mauloa in 2007 (formerly Sachs Capital)

Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, graduating magna cum laude; a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business; and a General Course Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.

He is also a top fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County and Dinner of Champions which raises funds for JCC’s inclusion summer camp. Andrew is also a member of the Board of Advisors of JCC of Greater Washington DC. Andrew is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Imagination Stage, the Board of Advisors of Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, Carl M. Freeman Foundation—FACES program, and the Board of Directors of the Shady Grove Medical Center Foundation.
