Nominate Someone Today
The Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame honors outstanding Jewish athletes and sports professionals who have strong ties to the Greater Washington Jewish community.
Candidates for induction into the Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame must meet the following criteria:
• Must be Jewish.
• Must demonstrate excellence in leadership, sportsmanship, and character.
• Must be able to participate in the event on November 21, 2026.
• Must have outstanding and notable accomplishments as an athlete or sports professional, preferably at the collegiate, national, or international level..
Must have strong ties to the Greater Washington, DC area, meeting at least one of the following
requirements:
• Born and/or raised in the area
• Attended high school or college in the area
• Participated in sports or in the sports profession in the area
• Currently living in the area OR lived here for a significant period of time
The deadline for nominations is March 2, 2026

High School Award Nominations

The Hyman M. and Phillip D. Perlo High School Athlete Award honors outstanding rising 12th-grade scholar athletes who attend school in the Greater Washington, DC area.
Candidates for the Hyman M and Phillip D. Perlo High School Athlete Award must meet the following criteria:
• Must be Jewish.
• Must be a rising 12th grader (currently a high school junior)
• Must excel in sports
• Must be an excellent student
• Must be involved in community activities
• Must be able to attend the November 21, 2026, event
The deadline for nominations is March 2, 2026

The Dinner of Champions celebrates athletic achievement while supporting inclusion at Lessans Camp JCC, giving children of all abilities the opportunity for a meaningful summer experience.
The Greater Washington Jewish Sports Hall of Fame celebrates outstanding Jewish athletes and sports professionals with strong ties to the Greater Washington, DC area. Inductees must have a history of excellence in sports, leadership, and character, and a connection to the local community—whether through growing up here, attending school, or being active in the area’s sports scene.
The Hyman M. and Phillip D. Perlo High School Athlete Award honors outstanding Jewish student-athletes from the Greater Washington, DC area. To qualify, nominees must be rising seniors who shine in sports, excel academically, and are involved in community service.
