It’s never too late to learn Hebrew! The Bender JCC is pleased to offer a variety of virtual and hybrid daytime and evening Hebrew classes year-round, from beginner (Aleph level) to advanced (Hay level), in Ulpan Ben Yehuda conversational Hebrew.

Hebrew Classes
Ulpan is an Israeli method for teaching and improving all Hebrew language skills—speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. Ulpan classes at the Bender JCC are taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers.
We are the only Ulpan in the area that offers in-person classes and uses a multimedia curriculum created by the Israeli Center of Educational Technology (CET), which includes Hebrew language learning, Israeli culture, and literature as well as Jewish tradition.
Hebrew Class Descriptions
The Bender JCC’s Hebrew language programs offers classes for beginners to advanced hebrew speakers. We are the only Ulpan in the area that offers in-person classes and uses a multimedia curriculum created by the Israeli Center of Educational Technology (CET), which includes Hebrew language learning, Israeli culture, and literature as well as Jewish tradition.
Hebrew Aleph is for students with no prior knowledge of the Hebrew language.
This class will be taught in person and virtually and is appropriate for students who know Hebrew reading, writing and basic vocabulary of 200 words, as well as conjugation of verbs in the infinitive and present tense.
This multimedia course will be taught virtually and is for students who are able to express themselves in Hebrew using simple sentences in the present and past tense.
This course is for students who have mastered basic conjugation in active and passive verb groups and can understand and talk about everyday life, news and more.
The course is conducted entirely in Hebrew, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to language acquisition.
Our Intensive Beginners Hebrew Course provides a solid foundation for those new to the language. We begin with the basics, teaching the sounds and usage of all the Hebrew letters and vowels, which are essential for reading, writing, and speaking Hebrew with confidence.
