FAQs for Families Filling Out the Fast Scholarship Application

  • The FAST application is available in Hebrew, French and Spanish.
  • For families with divorced parents, both parents will be asked to provide their information for the financial aid application.
  • ALL applications must submit financial information from 2022. If you have not completed your 2022 taxes by the financial assistance application deadline you may submit 2022 W-2’s or 2022 yearend paystubs. APPLICATIONS WITHOUT ANY 2022 FINANCIAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
  • If you have completed a FAST application for CESJDS or another school for the relevant school year, you can call FAST and ask them to share your information with the Bender JCC of Greater Washington. You will not have to pay another full application fee but additional fees may apply.

  • You must enroll your child in a Bender ECC program prior to applying for financial assistance.
  • Please include any information you feel is relevant that may not be reflected in the application in your personal statement. For example:
    • Recent job change or loss
    • Out-of-pocket medical expenses
    • Medical conditions that may impact a parent’s ability to work.
    • Caregiving needs for children or parents that impact your family situation
  • Application deadline is April 18, 2025 with awards announced May 5, 2025. Applications will be accepted for families after May 15 and through the upcoming school year based on fund availability.

  • You must enroll your child in Camp JCC via Campminder prior to applying for financial assistance.
  • Each family has an opportunity to include a personal statement with their application. Please include if you have applied for Summer Kids Club (Aleph, Bet, and Gimmel weeks) as these are not reflected in the application.
  • Please include any information you feel is relevant that may not be reflected in the application in your personal statement. For example:
    • Recent job change or loss
    • Out-of-pocket medical expenses
    • Medical conditions that may impact a parent’s ability to work.
    • Caregiving needs for children or parents that impact your family situation
