Richard Dreisen is one of Maryland’s all-time racquetball greats. A native of Silver Spring, Dreisen switched from playing handball at the JCC when it was in Washington to racquetball at the JCC of Greater Washington in Rockville, winning titles almost immediately. Named JCC Racquetball Champion every year from 1970 to 1974, Dreisen moved onward, claiming the Maryland State Doubles Racquetball Championship in 1976, Singles and Doubles Championships in 1977, and Doubles Championship in 1978, as well as numerous regional tournaments. Rebounding from injuries, Dreisen won additional state championships in 1990, 1991 and 1992.
