Bulman is a world-class boating competitor who has won numerous awards for hydroplane racing and ocean yacht racing. He has been a silver medalist, or better, in nearly every long distance race held on the East coast of the United States. He was the National Hydroplane Champion in 1962·and was inducted into the Gulf Marine Hall of Fame. Bulman has sailed in international competition from the Caribbean to Halifax; Nova Scotia for many years. He has been featured in National Geographic magazine. He has also donated his time to the U.S. Sailing Association as a Board Member, Chairman of the Legal Committee and IMS Owners Committee.
