Sarachan is the assistant coach for the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team. A graduate of Cornell University, Sarachan led Cornell’s soccer team to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division 1 tournament. He was a two time, All-American at Monroe Community College in New York. In 1976, Sarachan was drafted by the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. He went on to play in the Major Indoor Soccer League with the Pittsburgh Spirit, the Buffalo Stallions, the Baltimore Blast and the Kansas City Comets. Sarachan served as assistant coach for the University of Virginia and as head coach at Cornell for nine seasons. Sarachan also served as assistant coach for DC United in Major League Soccer. In 1985, he was captain of the U.S. Maccabiah Soccer Team. He is a member of the Rochester Jewish Hall of Fame and The Monroe Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.
