Working Together to Benefit Our Neighbors 

The Bender JCC is honored to be an agency of two remarkable organizations: the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Jewish Community Center Association of North America. The Bender JCC is a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, and through that relationship, we are humbled to collaborate with various Jewish organizations, synagogues, local and state governments, and a diverse range of non-profit organizations. Likewise, the Bender JCC is an active and proud member of the JCC Association of North America (JCCA) – a network of more than 200 JCCs across the continent.

Funders and Parent Organizations 

The Bender Foundation supports the arts, health, social services, Jewish causes, and education in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and beyond. Through their volunteer and philanthropic leadership, the Bender family has made an incredible, long-term impact on the Bender JCC and the Greater Washington Jewish community. We are profoundly grateful to the Bender Foundation for making a generous, $6.25 million gift to both name our Center and establish its Bender Early Childhood Center, both in honor of Sondra and Howard Bender.

Our Network of On-Campus Partners 

The Capitol Sea Devils provide excellence in professional coaching and programs that help swimmers achieve their maximum potential and strengthen their work ethic, self-esteem and respect for others.

Potomac Soccer Association provides rising soccer players with opportunities to develop their skills and talents in the sport through an enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding soccer environment. In addition to hosting games and practices at the Bender JCC’s Paul S. Berger Sportsplex, Potomac Soccer also contributes its highly competitive club-centric model, year-round curriculum, and holistic approach to player development to the Bender JCC community, allowing members to participate in an organized team sport not currently offered through our Sports and Recreation program. Through coaching, practices, and workshops, Potomac Soccer Association helps Bender JCC members grow, improve, and develop their soccer skills for every level of play.

ProAction’s highly trained physical therapists provide thorough evaluations and individualized treatment programs for musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, offering a convenient, dedicated location right in the Bender JCC’s Weinberg Health and Fitness Center.

Based at the Bender JCC, the Shalom Education Center is a place for families with Russian-speaking Jewish background to become a community!

St. Coletta is a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization that empowers children and adults with intellectual disabilities to discover their full potential. St. Coletta’s adult participants and staff will join the Bender JCC community and be regularly present on our campus while renovating their Rockville facility. As part of the move, the Bender JCC will lease some of our available classrooms to St. Coletta for their exclusive use during the weekdays (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM), leaving those classrooms available in the evening and weekends for our members and guests to enjoy.

Our Partners Across Greater Washington 

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Jewish Community Group (BCCJCG) is the oldest organization in Montgomery County dedicated to fulfillment of the cultural, educational, and religious needs of Jewish families in the area.

BBYO is the leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. As expressed in our core values, BBYO welcomes Jewish teens of all backgrounds, denominational affiliation, gender, race, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status, including those with a range of intellectual, emotional, and physical abilities.

ShalomLearning is a non-profit organization that meets the evolving educational needs of today’s Jewish community in an engaging, relevant, affordable, and accessible way.

Tzofim of North America is a youth movement for Jewish teens that originated in Israel. Tzofim offers youth throughout the United States a unique opportunity to participate in Israel Scouts programs and activities.
