The Bender JCC is Reopening!

We are so excited to start welcoming our members back for a phased reopening of the Bender JCC!

The Bender JCC will look and feel a little different when we reopen, so please read through this web page so you know what to expect when you return. We are reopening with shorter hours and will review our hours later in the summer.

In order to maintain our high standards of health and safety for our members and staff, we have implemented many new policies and procedures at the Bender JCC. We will continue to follow CDC, Maryland State, and Montgomery County guidelines as well as the guidance provided by our new Medical Advisory Committee (comprised of physicians and public health experts) throughout our phased reopening.

Tentative Reopening Timeline: All dates are subject to change based on the current guidelines from the CDC, State of Maryland, and Montgomery County government.

  • July 6: Bender JCC outdoor pool reopening. The outdoor pool will be for adult lap swim and water jogging only for the first week and by reservations only.
  • July 8: Herman Indoor Aquatic Center and Weinberg Fitness Center will open. Masks must be worn in the fitness center and all lap swimming and working out are by reservations only.
  • July 11: Bender JCC outdoor pool will reopen for family recreational swimming and lap swimming. Indoor fitness and the indoor pool will continue with limited capacity based on Montgomery County guidelines. Reservations will continue to be required for both indoor and outdoor pools as well as indoor fitness.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Susan Fischer at sfischer@benderjccgw.org.

Thank you again for joining us on this challenging journey and your patience as our plans evolve. We hope to see you soon!
