Colin: Son, Marine, Hero is the story of Colin J. Wolfe, the son of Amy and Mark Wolfe, who grew up dancing with the Manassas Ballet Theatre, performing each year through 2005. In June 2005, Colin enlisted with the Marine Corps, graduating that September. Colin was deployed to Iraq in July 2006. He was killed by a roadside bomb only seven weeks later on August 30th.
This ballet centers on the three main focuses of Colin’s life: his training in ballet, his love of Judaism, and his pride of being an American. These three elements came together to produce his desire to become a Marine, which crystalized on September 11, 2001.
This poignant ballet will come to life through the choreography of Amy Wolfe and the music of Mark Menza.
