JeSSI: Jewish Student Satellite Initiative
Starts July 16, 2019 - Ends August 13, 2019
JeSSI (The Jewish Student Satellite Initiative) is a program targeting 13-16 year old teens with an interest in Judaism, science and/or art.
JeSSI’s 2nd summer workshop will be held online, every Tuesday, July 16- August 13 from 7-8 PM. Those teens attending summer camp will be reached via mail. During the workshop, teens will collaboratively engage in topics of Jewish values, science and art. Tasks will have a hands-on component through a Jewish lens, spanning artistic design and scientific simulation. Workshop end-products will be launched to the edge of space on a high-altitude balloon (previous launches reached ~100,000ft.)
Two optional field trips are planned to occur during the workshop timeframe. Parents, siblings and friends are welcome to attend these field trips at no cost (dates TBD.)
Workshop spots are limited and are assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis.
