Carter Brey has been principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic since 1996. In 1981 he was a prizewinner in the Rostropovich International Cello Competition, and he has appeared as a soloist with most of America’s leading orchestras. He has also performed with the Emerson and Tokyo string quartets and given recitals with celebrated pianists. Mr. Brey will be joined by pianist Benjamin Pasternack, a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music who now sits on the piano faculty at Peabody Conservatory and regularly performs with distinguished symphonies and chamber musicians.
