Meet Your Masseurs & Masseuse
Sharon is a 2010 graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute. She has certifications in oncology massage and Comfort Touch, and has expertise in working with people with physical and cognitive challenges through her work with residents with dementia at the Hebrew Home. Each session is specially designed around the client’s goals and wishes, integrating a wide range of massage techniques. Sharon strives to make each session a warm, supportive, caring and therapeutic experience.
Scott is a compassionate, caring, light hearted, understanding person. He has had a success massage practice for over twenty years. He is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and licensed by the state of Maryland. Scott has brought nurturing touch to all types of people including athletes, the elderly, as well as persons with chronic pain, disabilities, cancer and HIV. His practice has included seated corporate massage for the U.S. Commerce Department, The International Monetary Fund, Children’s Hospital and other organizations. Scott uses a variety of techniques including Swedish, deep tissue acupressure and energy balancing.
Matt graduated from PMTI and is a Holistic Massage Therapist with a passion for healing. Matt has worked in the health and wellness industry for over 10 years helping people become more active, reduce or eliminate their medications, and have an overall higher quality of life. Matt has worked on the University of Maryland football team, along with athletes from all walks of life at different fitness centers and wellness clinics. Matt has also worked with clients that have chronic illness or pain, including scoliosis, MS, fibromyalgia, hip/knee/shoulder surgeries, and more. He discovered a passion for helping people in a holistic way, integrating lifestyle, mental state and dietary changes. He became a massage therapist because of all the positive changes experienced by friends, family, and himself. Matt also offers plant-based diet coaching, because after going vegan 6 years ago, he benefitted from increased energy, weight loss and eliminated seasonal allergies.”

ProAction Physical Therapy
ProAction Physical Therapy is located in the Weinberg Health and Fitness Center. We provide personalized care to people who have had surgery, and those with orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. Our specialties include treating the running and dancing populations.
We also specialize in Aquatic Therapy that is now located at the JCC. This unique therapy helps people who have pain exercising ‘on land’, and for those who have chronic back and neck pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, poor endurance, and balance and gait difficulties.

Hurwitz Internal Light Program for the Visually Impaired
The George and Tess Hurwitz Internal Light Program offers education and information for visually impaired older adults. Topics include daily living skills, aids and appliances, the latest research on vision and eye diseases, and peer support. The group meets the second Monday of each month.
