Did You Know He Was Jewish?

Which players in the Nationals’ organization are Jewish? Did any of them play for Team Israel in this year’s World Baseball Classic?

Phil Hochberg, the former stadium announcer for the Washington Senators traces the history of Jews playing America’s past time in our nation’s capital.

Going all the way back to 1905 when the ambidextrous pitcher, Mark Garfield Manuel — known as “Moxie” to fans — appeared in three games for the Senators, Hochberg takes you on a journey, detailing the Jews who have played professional baseball in Washington, D.C.
