Successfully merging experiential Jewish learning with an arts inspired curriculum, the program facilitates imagination, self-expression, and creativity, offering a multitude of opportunities to explore Jewish holidays, culture, values, language, history and traditions through art, music, dance, movement, drama, storytelling, cooking, and more. Our warm and nurturing setting welcomes families from diverse backgrounds and levels of Jewish experience. Opportunities for parent and family involvement will complement the program and encourage strong connections to the Jewish community-at-large.

Arts Alive Open House Meet & Greet
Sunday, June 4 | 10:00 AM
Meet us in the Bender JCC Teen Lounge!
Join Arts Alive Director, Lisa Arber, to find out more about this innovative Jewish education program, for K-5th graders, that merges experiential Jewish learning with an arts inspired curriculum. Lisa, a Jewish educator, programmer and arts specialist, with 35 years of experience, will share her philosophy of Jewish education and talk about the innovative curriculum she has developed for Arts Alive, a program now entering its fourth year at the Bender JCC. While Lisa meets with parents, your children will participate in activities.
Arts Alive meets 22 times per year on Sunday mornings at the Bender JCC. Our goal is to develop a love for Jewish life and learning and a passion for the arts from a young age. Our warm and nurturing environment is inclusive of families from all levels of Jewish observance and experience. Children build positive Jewish identity while learning about Jewish holidays, culture, history, values, Israel, Torah and Hebrew using a creative hands-on approach that includes music, drama, art, dance/movement, storytelling, cooking and more. Our staff includes visiting artists, arts specialists, teachers and a wonderful group of volunteers. With select opportunities for parents to join in the activities, the whole family can come together to celebrate Jewish learning and make lasting connections with the Jewish Community.
Come find out what all of the “buzz” is about and see if Arts Alive is a good fit for your family. For questions, or to let us know you are coming, please contact Lisa Arber at email@example.com. Please let Lisa know how many children will be attending with you and their ages.
We will begin our fourth year in the fall of 2017 and are proud to be the 2016 recipients of the JCCs of North America Kol HaKavod Award for innovative programs that can be replicated at JCCs around the country.
